This foodstuff contains the lower value of proteins and carbohydrates and increased the number of fats, sugar, and oil thus leading to other diseases such as heart attack, high blood pressure, and heart stroke.

The study involved 104,980 adults with an age of 43 to 45 years. They were given set of questionnaires to test how much amount of processed food they consumed. Other parameters such as age, sex, family history, physical activity, smoking and drinking habits were also considered.

Along with this highly processed food, other types of less processed food such as packed cheese, butter, canned veggies, eggs, meat, and milk were also considered.

Individuals consuming less processed food did not show a significant risk of any type of cancer. “Increased consumption of ultra-processed may result in increased number of cancer rates (especially the breast cancer) in near future.” The study suggests government to conduction product reformulation, assessment and advertising limitations on processed food as a safety measure against cancer.

Moreover, it promotes vending of less processed and fresh canned products in the market. Cancer is a leading cause of death and needs an immediate treatment after diagnosis.
