According to a group of Scientists, Portland, Maine (AP), Beech trees are found to be dominating the forests in the Northeastern United States, as per the changes in the climate, which is actually a bad news for people who are working in the forest.
In addition, the dominance of beech trees is also noticeable in few tourist areas as well, such as the Adirondack Mountains of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Where there is heavy forest, there are chances of climatic changes, they are related to high temperature and heavy rainfalls. As per the Scientist, in their 30 years of studies, published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Applied Ecology, stand first in finding out the huge changes in the climate conditions that took a lengthy period in the Northeastern, U.S, and Southeastern Canada.

However, Dr. Aaron Weiskittel, one of the authors as well as a professor in forest biometrics and modeling, in the University of Maine associate, said that this changes might have a negative impact on the forest ecosystems, as well as industries, by creating major complications ahead.

While, these trees are more often used for the purpose of firewood, as compared to maple trees and some species of birch, beech trees have less significant in the commercial market. As, maple trees the wood is used for manufacturing wooden baseball bats, and whereas birch wood is used for flooring, cabinets, benches, in addition, it is used a glue and also some medicinal purpose.

Well, as per Weiskittel, this might come out with a positive response, in favoring the beech trees, as solution related to this problem are on the way.

However, American beech trees have been increasing ahead, with a decreasing impact on the species such as red maple, birch and sugar maple as per author of the study for University of Maine and Purdue. They used the data of U.S forest Services to track the forest work from the year 1983 to 2014 from New York Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

In addition, the reason behind lowering the beech trees is that these trees are affected by a disease known beech bark disease, they cause the trees to die young and allowing to replace new tree that will again get infected with the same disease.
